Achsah E. (Munson) Evrard of Ooltewah, TN and

Achsah, age 98, died Friday, July 7, 2017 in Ooltewah, TN.

Achsah, the daughter of John B. and Anna S. (Schreiber) Buck, was born in Hastings, MI on April 30, 1919. She was a 1938 graduate of Hastings High School and was the Valedictorian of her class. She had been employed as the Hostess and ran the Gift Shop for the Battle Creek Sanitarium. Achsah also worked for the Battle Creek YMCA as a licensed massage therapist and continued to provide massages until age 85. She was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; she was a graduate and instructor of Dale Carnegie classes; was an avid traveler and a water ski enthusiast (her last skiing venture taking place during her 85th year!).

Achsah was united in marriage to Earl O. Munson in Hastings, MI on April 21, 1940 and he sadly preceded her in death on June 2, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Elaine K. (Louis) Haddock of Ooltewah, TN and Lola J. (John) Weinstein of Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Mark Haddock, Kim (Edward) Byk, Kara (Douglas) Stepanske, Brian Munson, Aaron (Dimitra) Weinstein, and two precious great grandchildren, Timothy Munson and Taylor Stepanske. Achsah was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roland H. Munson on April 24, 1996; her second husband of six years, Linden Evrard on December 9, 2006 and by 14 siblings.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Achsah's life will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 4:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with Pastor Nels Thompson, officiating. Achsah's family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Achsah may be directed to Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, P. O. Box 1952, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1952. Final interment will be with her beloved husband, Earl in Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek.
