Alfonso R. "Chito" Balboa, II of Galesburg, MI
Chito, age 21, died unexpectedly as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Indiana on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
Chito was born in Kalamazoo, MI on June 22, 1995. He was a construction worker for Christian Construction of Kalamazoo, MI and a member of Radiant Church in Richland, MI. He loved skateboarding, basketball, the outdoors, going to the movies, drawing and hanging out with his siblings. Chito is survived by his dad and mom, Poncho and Amanda Balboa of Galesburg; his paternal grandparents, Raul and Maria Balboa of Pharr, TX; his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Maureen Best of Portage; his brothers, Josiah, Isaac, Elijah, and Noah and his sisters, Niya, Taylor, and Mariah. He is also survived by his mom and step-dad, Tabitha and Ariel Cabezas of Portage, MI; his sisters, Celeste, Ariel and Whitley and brothers, Leo and Rodrigo. He is also survived by his brother, Bryan.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Chito's life will be held on Friday, September 16th at Noon at Radiant Church, 8157 East DE Avenue, Richland, MI 49083, with Pastor Jon Zondervan, officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland, MI. Immediately following the interment, family and friends will continue Chito's life celebration with a time of fellowship and luncheon at Radiant Church's Youth Room. Chito's family will greet friends on Thursday, September 15th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radiant Church and on Friday, September 16th from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Radiant Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chito's honor may be directed to GoFundMe Page, Chito Balboa Memorial Expense Fund by Heidi Hoekstra. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Chito's family with his arrangements.
