Alice Maxine (Arnold) Flach of Augusta, MI

Alice, age 87, died Tuesday morning, February 7, 2017 at the Butterfly Oasis, Kalamazoo, MI with her loving family at her side.

Alice, the daughter of William and Alta (Phillips) Arnold, was born in Topeka, KS on August 16, 1929 and moved to Augusta in 1958 from Topeka. She retired from Upjohn Company of Kalamazoo after 32 years of faithful service and no lost time (Alice had started at Brook Lodge for the Upjohn Family.). She enjoyed camping and gardening, but her passion in life was all of her family!

Alice was united in marriage to George Paul Flach, the first marriage in St. Ann Catholic Church, Augusta on May 29, 1965. Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Paul; two daughters, Debra (Chriss) Laing of Portage, MI and Darla (Don) Mann of Comstock, MI; her son, Dennis (Marsha) Toennessen of Chugiak, AK; eight precious grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and her sister, Dixie Lee Dodson of Topeka, KS. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; three brothers and her first husband, Richard Toennessen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 10th at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta with Father John D. Fleckenstein, Celebrant and Deacon Michael A. Carl, Assisting. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Alice's family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.n. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, 307 N. Webster Street, where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice's honor may be directed to St. Ann Catholic Church.
