Alice M. Hoyt

Alice M. Hoyt, 87, of Richland, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side. Alice was born September 4, 1931 in Battle Creek to Joseph and Myrtle (Letson) Mercer. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and married the love of her life, Russell Hoyt in 1949. The couple enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Alice enjoyed sewing, doing various crafts and gardening.

Alice is survived by her husband, Russell; a daughter, Kathy (Don) McKean; two sons, James (Ellen) Hoyt and Stanley (Elizabeth) Hoyt; two grandchildren and a brother, Ray Mercer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Verschoof.

The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 14th, 2019 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, where funeral services to celebrate Alice's life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15th, officiated by Pastor David Elmore.
