Alice A. (Cotton) Robinson

Alice A. (Cotton) Robinson, 84, of Ceresco, MI died at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence, with her family at her side, on Sunday, October 27, 2013.
Alice was born July 30, 1929 in Battle Creek, MI to Wallace H. and Anna L. (Mastin) Cotton. She grew up working on the family farm in Newton Township, attended the Country School at Stanley Corners until 8th grade and was a 1947 graduate of Lakeview High School. Early in life she was employed at the Wolverine Tower and Kresge's Five & Dime. She was the "Domestic Goddess" for her family and when her children were school age, Alice went to work at the Kellogg Company, and remained there until retiring from the Packing Room in 1992, after 26 years.
Alice A. Cotton was united in marriage to Lynn L. Robinson on September 5, 1949 on the family farm in Newton Township. Surviving are Lynn, her husband of 64 years; her four children, Duane (Debra) Robinson and Michael (Ada) Robinson all of Marshall, Gary Robinson of Ceresco, and Carole Hodgin of Ft. Wayne, IN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo (Barbara) Cotton of Battle Creek; a sister, Leila (Gene) Coffman of Tekonsha; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jeffery Robinson.
Alice was a member of the First Congregational Church and T.O.P.S. She enjoyed sewing, reading, square dancing and watching golf and tennis on TV. She loved to cook and watching her families sporting events and activities. Alice was an animal lover and took good care of her cats, dogs, birds and farm livestock.
Friends will be received by Alice's family 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Tom Ryberg at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013. Inurnment will be held later at Newton Cemetery.
