Alison Giddings

October 20, 1961 — October 21, 2015

Alison E Giddings, of Battle Creek died at home on October 21, 2015 after an extended illness. She was born Alison Elizabeth Baker to Ernestine and Charles Baker in Wellsboro Pa. Alison is survived by her husband, Michael of 25 years; sons, Eric and Luke; mother, Ernestine and brothers, Matthew and Oliver of Lawrenceville, Pa.

Alison attended Cornerstone University (Grand Rapids Baptist College) and received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduation she gained employment with C.R. Barnett, MD where she was employed for 30 years. She enjoyed her job, her co-workers and the patients and people she would come in contact with. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Battle Creek for more than 20 years and First Wes the remaining years. Alison loved mornings and would wake early each morning for Bible reading and devotion time.

Before her illness she enjoyed exercising and walking with her dog Sophie. She also enjoyed reading and vacationing in upper Michigan especially the Leelanau Peninsula, Traverse City and Harbor Springs areas. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching the cooking channels where she would always have new recipes to try which were always great.

Alison was a wonderful person and was loved and will be missed by many. A memorial service was held at the Farley Estes and Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2015 in Battle Creek. Please pray for those suffering from illness, disease and in need.
