Allen Louis Wood

Allen Louis Wood, Sr. age 65, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday morning, December 12, 2019 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born in Battle Creek on February 18, 1954 the son of Guy and Leoda Edith (Squires) Wood. Allen worked at various restaurants in Battle Creek over the years.

Allen is survived by his children, Tammy L. Wood of Battle Creek, Allen Wood II of Montgomery, MI and Kaila Griffith of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Smith of Bellevue and Mary (Jim) Davies of Traverse City. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Guy and Robert; a sister Margie; and great-grandson, Gavin Kuzma.

Allen truly enjoyed being independent. He also enjoyed gardening, yardwork and of course, walking which he walked many miles everyday.

Funeral services to celebrate Allen's life will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 in the chapel at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
