Andrea C. Parker

September 23, 1955 — February 24, 2024

Cape Coral, FL

Andrea Clay Bulkley Parker (Bink), born Medford Oregon September 23, 1955, passed away February 24, 2024 after a long illness.  Second of 4 children born to Dr. Andrew D. Bulkley and Dorris Taylor Bulkley, she is survived by sisters Sarah (Bernhardt) of Ridgefield CT, Abigal (Roberts) of Hatfield MA, brother, Duncan L. Bulkley of Tucson AZ, and husband Steven D. Parker of Cape Coral, FL.

Andrea grew up in Doylestown, PA. and attended Germantown Academy, later graduating from the University of Arizona, Tucson in architecture and political science. Steven and Andrea married on September 18, 1983 and lived at Gull Lake for many years, later splitting seasonal time between Michigan and Florida.

Andrea was an outstanding athlete, winning championships in both tennis and golf, she was a past ladies’ club champion at the Gull Lake Country Club.  She was also a gourmet chef and took great pleasure in opening her home to her many friends and family who always enjoyed her skills and always a great welcome.

A very special love was reserved for her beloved (and spoiled) Golden Retrievers, of which Steven and Andrea had 8 over the years.  Andrea also enjoyed gardening at home, even when the dogs “helped” by digging up her work occasionally, often bringing a bit of the outdoors in with them after the fact.

Traveling together, Andrea and Steven visited friends and business associates across the United States, and in Europe and Asia on a regular basis and she was very proud to make great friendships in all parts of the globe.

In addition to immediate family, Andrea will be greatly missed by many loving friends and family, including many in Michigan, and in Florida.  In Florida, during the Covid Virus outbreak, Andrea helped her neighborhood establish “Covid Cocktails on the Cul-de-sac”, in which, although close contact was discouraged, all the neighbors brought out their lawn chairs, spaced “appropriately”, and each week shared cocktails and friendship at the end of the street in a great circle . . .    Covid may be in the rearview mirror, but the  re-named “Circle Lounge” still meets every week and great friendships have been born.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in remembrance of Andrea, to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Loaves and Fishes, to help those less fortunate.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial reception is being planned for family and friends in the Springtime.  Time and place will be announced when arrangements are complete.  Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
