Andrea Louise Risdon of Gull Lake (Richland, MI)
Andrea, age 57, died unexpectedly at home in Richland on Thursday, August 7, 2014.
She was born on November 27, 1956 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of William A. and Bette K. (Wilson) Risdon. Andrea was a 1974 graduate of Dawn Treader High School in Kalamazoo and received her Associate's Degree from Lansing Community College. In addition, she earned a Paralegal Degree. She had been an employee for the Classic Car Club of America at the Gilmore Car Museum for ten years, serving as office manager and special events planner. Andrea loved to cook, always up to the challenge of a new recipe, and more often than not, creating her own. She was bright, witty and outgoing.
Andrea is survived by two sons, Andrew William Lobenherz of Richland and John Risdon Adkins of Galesburg, MI; her sister, Crissa E. (Dan) Pender of Gull Lake (Richland); her brother, William A. (Judy) Risdon, II of Hickory Corners, MI; by a niece and three nephews and her father's widow, Irene Risdon Langer of Cape Coral, FL. Andrea was preceded in death by her parents.
The Burial Office and Holy Eucharist to celebrate Andrea's life will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Episcopal Church, 9800 East BC Avenue, Richland, with Father Joel L. Turmo, Rector, officiating. The Risdon Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Church. Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private, graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Andrea's honor may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, 448 North Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 or to a Charity of one's choice. The Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is in charge of all the arrangements.
