Aniya Kay Cross, 21, of Battle Creek died unexpectedly on June 1, 2023.
Aniya was survived by her Momma Shannon Marion; father, Christopher Cross Jr. and bonus mom, Ashley Cottrell; sisters, Kaylie, Abbie, Mae Allen, Izabella, Yesenia and Brianna; brothers, Davion and Dominic; grandparents, Debbie Quinn and Thomas (Julie) Marion, amazing aunts and uncles and so many cousins, too many to list. She loved them all.
Aniya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Christopher Cross Sr. and Sharon Perkins; her baby brother, Joshua Allen Densmore Jr., aunt, Kellie Cross; her cousin, Rodrick Bradley (Hot Rod) great-grandparents, Big Papa and Grandma Bartt and Bertha Cross.
Aniya was a graduate of Midland High School in 2020. She also attended Mt. Pleasant High School where she had many friends. She aspired to become a veterinarian. Aniya loved all animals; most of all her beloved Scrappy.
Aniya was the best big sister to all her siblings, who all admired her and looked up to her. She also was a kid at heart. Aniya loved Disney SpongeBob, Rick and Morty. She was also into anime, reading, nature, art, singing, dancing and make-up. She also loved to travel with her parents.
Aniya had a heart of gold. She lit up any room she walked into with her smile. She touched the lives of many. Her soul will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends that loved her. Our world is a sadder place without her.
A memorial service to celebrate Aniya’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
