Ann R. Stovall

April 19, 1943 — March 23, 2026

Battle Creek

Ann R. Stovall, 82, of Battle Creek, died March 23, 2026. Ann was born on April 19, 1943 in New York to Earl Wayne and Dorothy (Lawler) Rickenbach. She graduated from college with a nursing degree and was a dedicated registered nurse in the area for many years.

Ann had a huge heart. When she wasn’t caring for patients, she was taking care of her family. She was very close with her grandchildren, especially her granddaughter Emily. The two lived nearby during Ann’s later years and traveled to Europe together when she was younger. She was very generous and helped her family many times. A woman of great, faith, she kept her Bible close to her side. She was an excellent lasagna maker and enjoyed tending to her flowers and keeping track of her birds on her deck. Ann also liked to cross stitch; she even had some of them professionally framed.

Ann is survived by her two children, John (Shelly) Stovall and Jennifer Stovall; 3 grandchildren, Emily, Joshua and Mahala and her brothers Will Rickenbach, John Calvin Rickenbach and Robert Rickenbach. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Nancy Rickenbach.

As per Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
