Anne L. Barnes

Anne L. Barnes, 89, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, January 10, 2015. Anne was born October 28, 1925 in Coldwater to Judson and Ogie (Love) Horton. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1943 and went on to marry Howard T. Barnes, who sadly preceded her in death in 1989. Later on in her life, she worked at Pennfield Shell Food Mart as a cashier for seven years. She was a long time member of the Family Bible Church in Marshall.

Anne is survived by her two sons, Judson (Mary) Barnes and Garry Barnes; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her former daughter-in-law, Janice Barnes. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her parents, and a sister, Helen Horton.

Funeral services to celebrate Anne's life will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Richard Gerten. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Bible Church.
