Annette L. Zalner

Annette L. Zalner, 78, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away November 29, 2025.

Annette was born December 29, 1946 in Battle Creek to Robert and Winifred (Rathburn) Evans. She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and spent her working career at Kellogg’s. In March 1977, she was united in marriage to John E. Zalner. Annette enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, friends’ groups, golfing and spending time in the sun. As much as she enjoyed her trips with friends, she was always “ready to be home.” She loved her dog, Coco and always wore her pink hat. She volunteered at the Charitable Union and was a Salvation Army Bell Ringer at Christmastime.

Annette is survived by her son, Chad (Angie) Hiltner, seven grandchildren (spouses) and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and brothers Robert Evans and William Evans.

Annette’s family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home, where a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8.
