April Renee Hicks

April Renee (Hall) Hicks, age 37, of Richmond, KY and formerly of Battle Creek died Thursday, September 14, 2017. She was born in Battle Creek on October 16, 1979 and was the daughter of William Torrance and Laura Hall. April attended Battle Creek Public Schools and worked at Denso for 8 years and Hitashi for 3 years.

April is survived by her husband, David L. Hicks; her three daughters, Alyssa Renee Hicks, Jaz Hicks, and Nicole Hicks; her mother, Laura Hall; her father and step-mother, William & Robin Torrance; grandmother, Marilyn Lou Hall; special daughter, Drea Sanchez; sisters, Erin Perrin, Thelma Dickerson, and Tasha Maclam; brother, Thomas Cress, Jr.; nieces, Breann Stout, Sharita Cress-Dickerson, Tailer Rice, and Mimmie Deleon-Rice; nephews, Jordan Cress-Dickerson, and Gregg Austin. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces & nephews, and lots of special friends and best friends. April was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orletta & William Torrance and John F. Hall; and aunts, Glenna Burghdoff, Tena McCloud, and Theresa LaPorte.

April was a fun and loving person who liked to have fun and truly loved her family and friends, especially her 3 beautiful daughters. She was a generous soul and person that loved so much that if you were her friend, you were her family. April loved working, doing hair, nails & make-up, and singing & dancing. Her true passion in life was spending time with her girls and visiting her husband.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28th.
