Arthur Caball

July 27, 1945 — May 8, 2018

Arthur Caball, 72, died May 8, 2018 at his home. Art was born in Waukegan, IL in 1945, son of the late Edward and Marie Caball.

Art served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star for heroism and was a welder/pipefitter aboard ship.

Art started his own successful welding business in 1970, Custom Metal Work, retiring in 2006. From a young age, Art enjoyed and excelled at fishing and hunting; not only in Michigan but South Dakota, Montana and Utah with his friends and brother, Ed. Art's passion since 1970 was his old school dune buggy that he designed, built and traveled all over the country taking part in competitions, car shows and parades.

Art is survived by his brother, Ed Caball of Montana; two sisters, Margaret Caball of Augusta and Mary (Matt) Bush of Battle Creek; a niece, Bethany Caball; a nephew, Alex (Molly) Caball, both of Montana and a nephew, Zach Bush of East Lansing.

Art cherished his many friends and their families that were an integral part of the happy life he led. Art will be sorely missed by all of us who appreciated his humor, creativity, talent, incredible passion for life and his unfailing generosity.

A graveside service to celebrate Art's life will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A luncheon to continue Art's celebration of life will follow at the Dock at Bayview. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
