Arthur Earl Clayman, 78, of Battle Creek died at Bronson Battle Creek on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
Arthur was born September 14, 1938 in Eckford, Michigan to Lester and Martha (Reagle) Clayman. He attended high school in Florida, returned to Michigan and went to work. He retired as a printer from St. Regis Paper Company, where he was employed for 33 years. Art then worked as a manager for C and S Carton & Container until his second retirement at the age of 62. He spent 58 years with his wife raising two sons and a very precious granddaughter.
Arthur Earl Clayman married LuAlice Maple Smith on April 1, 1958 at Central Christian Church in Battle Creek. Sadly he was preceded in death by LuAlice, his wife of 58 years on June 11, 2016. Surviving are his two sons, Darrell (Crissy) Clayman of Indianapolis, IN, Dennis (Debra) Clayman of Battle Creek; a granddaughter, Sunny Morrison of Battle Creek; sister, Ada (Gene) Manwarren of Middleburg, FL and a brother, Darrell Clayman of Florida. In addition to his wife Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Byrd and Billie Barraclough.
Arthur loved spending time with his granddaughter, Sunny. Art was an avid golfer and also repaired golf clubs. He was a former president of the Wattles Park Men's Club. Art was a Little League coach for his son's baseball teams. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball, football and hockey. Art also enjoyed playing pool at the Kool Family Community Center. Arthur will be remembered as a kind hearted and loving man.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be officiated by Chaplain Robert Heine 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016.
