Arthur Edward Paulson, age 81, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2013. He was born in Battle Creek on May 20, 1932, the loving son of Frederick and Winifred (Sadd) Paulson. Over the years, Arthur was employed at Paulson Auto Electric, Paulson Pattern Shop and Clark Equipment.
Arthur married the "Love of his Life", Shirley Ann Shay in Calhoun County on May 12, 1951; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Karen (Lee) Rentz of Washington, Marilyn "Jo" (Gary) Tarka of Ohio, Kathy (Dan) Adams of Battle Creek and Debbie (Steve) Vance of Augusta; 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, and a sister.
A very caring and giving man, Arthur volunteered his time and talents for many years with Habitat for Humanity and the Charitable Union. He was a member of the Y-Centers Men's Club and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, camping, mowing his lawn and spending time with his family.
Funeral services to celebrate Arthur's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where a visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., Monday. Interment will follow privately at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Habitat for Humanity or the Charitable Union.
