Aubrey D. Nesseth, age 85, of Battle Creek went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Aug 8, 2015. He was born in Detroit in 1929, the first child of Henry and Alice Nesseth. He graduated from Saulte Ste. Marie High School in 1947. At 19 he moved to Battle Creek to find work and found his wife as well. He married Anita Jones who after 40 years of marriage preceded him to heaven in 1991.
Aubrey worked for the Grand Trunk Western Railroad as an Engineer of Surveys, Track Design and Construction. Heart problems forced an early retirement from his role as Director of Surveying and Engineering.
In 1993 he married Greta Trumbull Berry, opening his heart to a second family who became dear to him to whom he became a blessing for these 22 years.
Aubrey's three passions were his love for God, love for his family and love for his family of faith at Calvary Baptist Church. He was known to be knowledgeable, insightful and wise as a teacher and leader among his family of faith. His life was a model of the things that last, Faith, Hope and Love.
Aubrey is survived by his children, Timothy (Beth) Nesseth of Hudsonville, MI; Karen (Tom) Kawabe of Ledyard CT; Brent (Ginnie) Nesseth of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Greg Nesseth of Grand Rapids, MI; as well as 8 grand children and 12 great grand children.
He is also survived by his wife Greta Nesseth and her children, Debra (Ralph) Woodstock, Otsego, MI; Doug (Gina) Berry, Indianapolis, IN; Brian (Virginia) Berry, Newark, OH; David (Kari) Berry, Battle Creek; Steven (Christin) Berry, Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
In honor of Aubrey's life, gifts to 'David's House Ministries', Greg Nesseth's residence, would be accepted in lieu of flowers.
