Aubry Marie Maronek, age 6, of Battle Creek passed away on Monday August 31, 2020. She was born with epilepsy and lost the battle with a severe seizure. Aubry was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 20, 2014 to parents Adam and Amanda Maronek. She was a happy child, so full of life. She would scoot all over on her little bottom and get to where ever she wanted to go and she was quick too. Aubry loved to run her fingers through anybody's hair that got close enough to her. She would scoot to people sitting on the couch and reach up to give them high fives. One of Aubry's favorite activities was playing in water. She didn't care if it was a bathtub, a swimming pool or even the dog water. If there was water in her reach she would find it and splash it everywhere. She had that kind of laugh that was so contagious, it could bring anyone out of a bad mood. She also loved to hear herself screech. It would cause her to bust out laughing, especially if it echoed.
Aubry was born with a few different medical conditions. She was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis, hemimegaloencephaly and cerebral palsy. At only 11 months old she had a hemispherectomy, they removed the entire right side of her brain. While that drastically reduced the number of seizures she was having, it didn't take them away completely. After a few different combinations of medications, we found a combination that worked best. For the most part, she was seizure free. She would have one pretty bad seizure every few months. Her final seizure was just too bad for her little body to handle.
Aubry's memory will forever be cherished by parents, Adam and Amanda; siblings, Alaina and Adam Jr; grandparents: Tina and Mike Jenkins, Robert Sr and Kim Crose, David Sr and Teresa Maronek, and Diane Crose; great grandparents: Janice Cohen, Alice St. Clair, Walter Sr and Doris Maronek; aunts and uncles: David Jr and Jessica Maronek, Robert Jr and Megan Crose, Stephanie and Terry Shaw, Jon Maronek, Zach Jenkins, Samantha and Zach Dibble, Amanda Parsons, Justin and Clara Ford, Shawn and Kassi Jenkins, Elicia and Ben Sehy; as well as many cousins.
