Augustine Dean

Augustine Dean (Tina), age 90, of Battle Creek, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 9, 1924 in Red Bay, AL, lived in Tishomingo MS and came to reside in Battle Creek in 1944. She had been a resident of the Oaks at North Pointe Woods for 2 1/2 years.

Tina had various employers throughout her life; United Steel & Wire, Kellogg's, and was a domestic assistant to the McKay's and Andersons for many years. She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, loved to shop and spend time with her family.

Tina was married to Thurman Dean, which ended in divorce. She had a special love of her life, Joe Medich, whom she dated for many years. She is survived by her son, Ronald Dean of Battle Creek; 2 granddaughters, Connie and Debbie; brother, Newman W. McNatt of Battle Creek; sister, Hilda Torres (brother-in-law, Robert Torres) of Battle Creek, and many nieces and nephews. She also had many beloved cousins in MS. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Newman (Rex) and Carrie Ora McNatt; her brother Wayne D. McNatt; and her beloved cat, Ping.

Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Tina's life will be held at a later date.
