Barbara Janis (Sutton) Bushong

Barbara Janis (Sutton)Bushong, 76, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Barb was born August 7, 1947 in Sarasota, Florida the daughter of Richard and Janis (Iams) Sutton. She grew up in Battle Creek and was a 1965 graduate of Harper Creek High School. 

She is survived by her son, Cabe Allen, of Chicago, Illinois. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Janis; and brother, Kevin.

Barb loved gardening and crafts.  She dedicated countless hours in her gardens and creating handcrafted gifts and items for friends and family. Barb will be remembered as a bright and shining light. A caring and giving mother. A thoughtful and generous friend. A kind and gentle soul. 

Friends will be received 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a service to celebrate Barb’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation. Inurnment will be held later at North Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood, Michigan.
