Barbara Elaine (Goldin) "Bobbie" Gavorin of Battle Creek, MI
Bobbie, age 66, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, January 26, 2015 at her residence.
Bobbie, the daughter of Jack and Shirley (Wisner) Goldin, was born on September 16, 1948 in Detroit, MI and they moved to Battle Creek in 2002 from Dearborn, MI. She attained two Masters Degrees from The University of Michigan-Dearborn Campus and was a retired high school Special Education Teacher. Bobbie was a member of the Temple Beth El of Battle Creek; was a voracious reader and enjoyed long country rides.
Bobbie was united in marriage to Harvey Glenn Gavorin on July 13, 1986 in West Bloomfield, MI. Surviving is her husband of 28 years, Harvey; a step-daughter, Michelle Gavorin of Warren, MI; two step-sons, David Gavorin of Lapeer, MI and Randy (Denise) Gavorin of Bloomfield Hills, MI; four step-grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Rebecca & Amelia Gavorin's; a step-great granddaughter, Kassidy Gavorin and her sister, Pennie Michelin of Farmington Hills, MI. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Bobbie's life will be held on Friday, January 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek with Rabbi Ilana G. Baden of Temple Beth El of Battle Creek, officiating. Bobbie's family will greet friends on Friday from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Final interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI in the Spring of 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bobbie's honor may be directed to the Defenders of Wildlife, 1130 17th Street, Washington, DC 20036.
