Barbara Jean (Morgan) "Buzzy" Tiffany, age 87, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 3, 2020. She was born in Battle Creek on May 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Dr. Paul and Kathryn (Abbey) Morgan. Affectionately nicknamed "Buzzy" at the age of two, that name tagged her all her life. She was a cheerleader for and 1950 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. A former dancer (acrobatic, ballet, and tap), Buzzy danced in various local clubs and talent shows, the Band Follies, Leila Hospital Follies, and the Cereal City production of Desert Song. Buzzy was employed by Michigan National Bank, the offices of H.B. Sherman Co., and Oliver Aviation until 1956 when she became a full-time mother.
With a curious mind, her interests were varied and many. She was a prolific reader, an ardent writer of poems, letters, and articles, a handwriting analyst, and adventurous lover of travel. She loved nature, especially great waterways, islands, trees, the change of seasons, and animals. Buzzy cared mightily for lost dogs, fallen birds, and the many abandoned kittens and cats that came to her deck, and her beloved family pets. She was an antique dealer at Cronin's Antique Center in Marshall, MI and an avid collector of nostalgia.
Mrs. Tiffany was married 61 years to her Jr. High School sweetheart, Terry A. Tiffany, until his death parted them on August 13, 2012. She is survived by her two daughters, Tamara (Jeffrey) Jackson, and Lisa (Charles) Jones; four grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) McCrery, Paul (Katie) Jones, Mellisa (Patrick) Ogilvy and Morgan (Gregory) Glass; great-grandchildren, Rachael McCrery, Nathan McCrery, Hailey McCrery, Hayden Ogilvy, Jack Ogilvy, and Hannah Glass; a cousin, JoAnn Beal; a nephew, David Morgan; and a niece, Kathy Wagaman. Buzzy was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Paul Morgan and Frank Gordon Morgan.
A private family service has been held at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, would be appreciated. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Personal messages for the family and/or favorite memories of Buzzy may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
