Barbara Ann Tuitt of Hickory Corners, MI



Barbara Ann Tuitt, age 82, of Hickory Corners, Michigan, died Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014, at her daughter's residence following a lengthy illness and surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara, the daughter of Harry and Velma (Coriell) Bollman, was born on October 27, 1932 in Chicago, IL and she and her husband, Jack moved to the this area in 1986. She graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Barb was a member of The Red Hat Ladies, Richland Area Chapter. She had played tennis all her life, enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader.

A "Sweetheart of a Girl," Barbara was united in marriage to John D. "Jack" Tuitt on October 27, 1956 in New York. Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Jack; her daughter, Molly A. (Kenneth N., Jr.) Rheynard of Hickory Corners; two sons, Michael F. (Mary) Tuitt of Kernersville, NC and James R. (Karen) Tuitt of Prior Lake, MN and three loving grandchildren, Tiffany (Blaine) Sumpter, Kyle and Bryce Tuitt. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89) with Deacon Michael A. Carl of St. Ann Catholic Church, Augusta, MI, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Barbara's family will greet friends on Friday, December 5th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Barbara's honor may be directed to Reverence Hospice, 348 N.
