Bert J. Shedd

Bert J. Shedd, age 72, of Augusta and formerly of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 4, 2023.  He was born in Battle Creek on March 8, 1950, the loving son of Bert A. and Eleanor M. (Otis) Shedd.  Bert proudly graduated from Michigan State University and served as Division Manager for Home City Ice, retiring in 2015 after more than 20 years.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents and two wives, Pauline Shedd in 1975 and Barbara Joan Shedd in 2015.  He is survived by his two sons, Bert Lynn Shedd of Florida and David Michael Shedd of Battle Creek; his spiritual companion, Connie K. Pickford of Battle Creek; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; his brother, Ken Shedd of Battle Creek; his sister, Diane (Jerry) Krebs; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces & nephews.

Bert was a faithful member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church and the Great Lakes & National Ice Associations.  An avid Michigan State University alumnus & fan, Bert was all things Green & White.  He also enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 11^th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where funeral services to celebrate Bert’s life will begin at 12:00 noon.  Interment will be held privately at Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Bert may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
