Bertha Aileen Varga

Bertha Aileen Varga, 91, passed away November 25, 2025.

Bertha was born March 29, 1934 in Southampton, Bermuda to Frank and Dorothy (Williams) DeSilva. She graduated from Mount Allison University with her Bachelor of Arts and went on to work at various jobs, retiring from Post in 1993. She was united in marriage to Ernest David Varga on September 12, 1957. Bertha enjoyed travel and reading. She will be remembered for her love of family and her devotion to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Bertha is survived by her daughter, Helen (Laurel) Varga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Varga and daughter, Seran Varga.

A memorial to celebrate Bertha’s life will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery will follow at 3:00 p.m. Donations in Bertha's memory may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan or the South Michigan Food Bank.
