Bethel “Beth” Betty (Hare) Carlisle, 85, of Battle Creek died peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Bronson Hospital.
Beth was born on January 15, 1939, in Kalkaska Michigan to John W. and Sarah B. (Culltion) Hare. At the age of 10, Beth moved with her family to Battle Creek where she lived and graduated from Pennfield High School.
Beth is survived by her daughter Karla (Jim) Bivens; grandson, Brandon (Lynn) Keller; granddaughters Missy (Brian) Borgman, and Michelle (Jeffrey) Oleniczak; and four great grandchildren, Riley (Martina) Keller, Jailee (Mitchell) Flesch, Brezlyn Oleniczak and Macklan Oleniczak. Beth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Gerald Keller, Richard Wightman, Harold (Bob) Carlisle, her special friend of 25 years, Robert Lash and her son, Samuel Mark Keller on March 24, 2024.
She was employed by the Thompson Family at the Buckingham Inn for 20 years. She also worked for Macy’s for 10 years, earning several customer service awards. After Macy’s closed, Beth began working as a waitress at the Holiday Inn where she received many “Employee of the Month” awards. She retired at the age of 75.
In her younger years, Beth enjoyed spending weekends with Robert and her family at the Sunset Cove Resort. She loved her flower gardens, feeding the birds and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Beth’s family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, 105 Capital Ave. NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017. Services to celebrate Beth’s life will be officiated by Pastor James Hackworth at 1:00pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the funeral home. The service will be Live-streamed and may be viewed at: https://vimeo.com/event/4847987 . Committal and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Vale Street Venue, 1745 E. Columbia Ave., Battle Creek, Mi 49014.
