Betty Lee (Niccum) Howard, 95 formerly of Battle Creek, Michigan died at the Palms of Sebring, Sebring, Florida on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Betty was born January 5, 1921, in Moore Park, Michigan, to Glenn and Edna (Vinck) Niccum. She grew up near Moore Park, MI and was a 1938 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Betty was employed as a statistician at Federal Home Life Insurance Company for 19 ½ years, retiring in 1983.
Betty was married four times and was preceded in death by her last husband, Ernest Howard on December 8, 1995. Surviving are three sons, Glenn (Shelly) Baldwin of Coldwater, MI, Mark Heisler of Battle Creek, Dr. Carl (Marianne) Milks of Honesdale, PA; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and a brother, James Niccum of Ft. Myers, FL. In addition to her husband, Ernest Howard, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger William Milks; and husbands, Gerald Milks, Lynn D. Baldwin and Darwin Heisler.
Betty had been a member of First United Methodist Church, Emmett Street Missionary Church and Memorial Methodist Church. Betty was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago; and attended KCC late in life. She was a member of the Battle Creek Society of Artist. Betty was very creative. She enjoyed painting, writing, music, cooking and volunteering/working at Lake Placid Crisis Center. Betty will be remembered as a loving, creative Christian.
Friends will be received 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where a funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016.
