Betty Jane Jackson

Betty Jane Jackson, age 91, of Battle Creek, died Sunday morning, June 26, 2016 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born March 14, 1925 in Niles, MI to Gerald and Verna (Hall) Rinehart. Betty graduated from Lakeview High School in 1943.

Betty married Louis L. Jackson in Battle Creek on May 6, 1945; he preceded her in death on November 28, 2012. She was employed part-time at Sears & Roebuck for several years, but was primarily a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Diana (Robert) Williams and Debra (James) Gardner; two grandchildren, Melanie Gardner, Christopher (Heather) Gardner, and one great-grandson, Ian Gardner. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nadine Gifford, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was also preceded in death by parents and her sister, Dorisene Lake.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Inurnment will follow 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
