Betty Jane (Imel) Keifer

Betty Jane (Imel) Keifer, 78, of Battle Creek died unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Betty Jane Imel was born August 22, 1944 in Florence Township Michigan, the daughter of Leonard and Stella (Burke) Imel. Betty grew up in Three Rivers, Michigan, where she was a 1962 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Betty owned and operated "Betty's Poodle Grooming" in Three Rivers for ten years. She was employed as a laundry attendant at Lakeview Laundry and Wanda's Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She was also employed in several local manufacturing plants.
Betty Jane Imel was united in marriage to William Ora Keifer, Jr. on May 8, 1965. Sadly, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on Friday, November 12, 2021. Surviving are their children, Michelle (Mitchell Fremion) Keifer of Angola, IN, Shannon (Christopher) Trimm of Battle Creek, Michael (Janaye) Keifer of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren, Nicole Phillips, Dakota Trimm, Bryce Trimm, Mercedes Keifer, Cassidy Trimm, Brynn Keifer, June Keifer; one great-granddaughter, Aryana Bilbrey; and siblings, Walter Imel of Seymour Texas, Peggy (Gregory) Criswell of Three Rivers and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Betty was also proceeded in death by her parents.
Betty was an excellent cook and baker. She loved providing delicious home cooked meals for her family and guests. She made mouth-watering homemade pies, the best anywhere. Betty and Bill enjoyed taking their family to the UP, camping and just being outdoors. Their favorite area was on the Keweenaw Penninsula, Copper Harbor and Brockway Mountain. Betty was easy to get along with as long as you considered, "It was her way or the highway". She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her words of wisdom; and someone who was always there for her family and loved ones.
A private visitation will be held for her immediate family at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care. Her cremated remains will be placed next to her husband, Bill.
