Betty J. Tinskey, 76, of Battle Creek, died October 5, 2016. Betty was born June 10, 1940 in Monterey, TN to Boyd and Pearl (Tudor) McCowan. She attended Battle Creek Central and lived in Detroit and Battle Creek where she was a waitress at Russ Restaurant and Nankins Mills.
Betty enjoyed shopping, traveling, going to the casino, going out to eat and spending time with family. She attended First Church of the Nazarene, loved country music but especially loved her dog, CoCo. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Betty was a wonderful woman who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Betty is survived by her husband, Larry; her three children, Ray (Bonita) Keeler, David (Sarah) Keeler and James Keeler; three step-children, Mike Tinskey, Larry Tinskey and Christina Tinskey; a sister, Emma (Justin) Brown; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ray Keeler; a sister, Donnie; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services to celebrate Betty's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
