Beverly Lou Banks

Beverly Lou Banks, age 91, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Marshall, passed away Saturday morning, June 23, 2018 at the Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. She was born in Battle Creek on August 21, 1926, the daughter of Damon and Lillian (Hewitt) Banks and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1944. Beverly retired from the Eaton Corporation in 1991 after more than 21 years of service.

Beverly is survived by her sons, Kent (Lynn) Weiderman of Kalamazoo and Todd (Tammy) Gore of Marshall; her daughters, Dorinda Kay Carpenter and Miranda Smith, both of Texas; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Dallas Gore and Melinda Weiderman; two brothers, Vincent Banks and David Banks; and two sisters, Bessie Philo and Mary Banks.

Beverly was a former member of the Moose Lodge #88 in Kalamazoo. She enjoyed camping at Lake Michigan, dancing and spending time at Lyon Lake watching her grandkids and great-grandkids just having fun in the water.

The family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate Beverly's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.
