Beverly J. "Bev" Grimes

Beverly J. "Bev" Grimes, age 82, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022 after a determined and courageous eleven-year battle with cancer. She was born in Dearborn, MI on July 13, 1939, the daughter of Christopher and Alice (Asquith) Edwards. Bev graduated from Dearborn Fordson High School with the Class of 1957 and furthered her education at Western Michigan University and Michigan State University. She taught business classes for many years at the Calhoun Area Career Center and Kellogg Community College.

Bev married the "Love of Her Life", Robert G. "Bob" Grimes in Dearborn, MI on June 3, 1961; he sadly preceded her in death on May 25, 2011. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Kelly) Grimes of Grand Haven, Steven (Carmen) Grimes of Battle Creek, and Darryl (Melissa) Grimes of Wayland, MI.; six precious grandchildren, Tyler, Carly, Jake, Connor, Brennan, and Karson; two step-grandchildren, Savannah and Trey Rose; and sisters-in-law, Janet Barber and Judy Edwards. Bev was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Guy Barber.

A devoted & proud, wife, mother & grandmother, Bev & Bob especially loved watching their children's & grandchildren's athletic events. Bev was a member of the Pennfield Presbyterian Church and many area Bridge Clubs, where she could play Bridge 4 to 5 times a week. She also enjoyed cooking & baking, and spending time & traveling with her best friends from high school.

A celebration of Bev's life will be held 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Riverside Golf Club, 245 E. Columbia Ave., Battle Creek.
