Beverly A. Marz, age 73, of Battle Creek and formerly of Bronson, passed away after a long battle with Leukemia on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2014. She was born in Bronson, Michigan on April 3, 1940, the daughter of Russell and Helen (Higbee) Nelson and graduated from Bronson High School.
Beverly is survived by her son, Mitchell (Deborah) Marz of Battle Creek; her daughter, Michelle (Mark) Elliott of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren, Lagé (Steve) Brevitz and Brandon (Dana) Marz; two great-grandchildren, Harper Marz and Tucker Brevitz; her sister, Betty Zabonick of Bronson; two nieces and several great-nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly was a homemaker, worked for Lakeview School District, and finished her career working more than 15 years for the State of Michigan in the Family Independence Agency. A member of the Riverside Country Club, she enjoyed golfing, gardening, and reading. Beverly traveled to the Villages in Florida during the winter months, where she enjoyed many activities with close friends in that community.
The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Beverly's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014. Interment will be held at Bronson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.
