Bill George "Billy V" Valleau

Bill George "Billy V" Valleau, age 67, of Springfield passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023. He was born in Allegan, Michigan on November 16, 1955 and graduated from Otsego High School. Bill was a school bus driver for many years and then several more years as a Kalamazoo City Bus Driver. He also had a limousine service (Touch of Class Limousine Service).

Bill was an active member of the American Legion Riders and the Sons of the American Legion Squadron at Post #298 in Springfield. He was also a member of the P.N.A. and the Eagles. Bill loved riding his motorcycle and singing karaoke. His favorite song was "Farewell Party" by Gene Watson. He could usually be found at karaoke events throughout the area.

Bill was sadly preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Wilma Jean Valleau; his biological father, Wilber George Long Sr; his sister, Janice Marie Branham; his half-sister, Ruthann Nicolet; and his half-brother Mike Long. He is survived by his brother, Howard Long; his children, Sharon Kay Wiard, Erica Nicole Ann Valleau, and Arron Scott Valleau; his granddaughter, Cynthia Wiard; nieces and nephews, Mandy (Bradley) Jensen, Jessica (Drew) Pritz, Carrie Jeffries, Teddy (Kim) Nicolet, Brian (Davenna) Nicolet, Deannea Nicolet; half-brothers, Danny Long, Wayne Long, and Robert Long; and his step brothers Ed (Dixie) Valleau and Vic Valleau. His first great-granddaughter is due on January 24, 2023 and he would have loved to meet the little lady. He is also survived by multiple great-nieces & great-nephews and their children.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday January 22, 2023, at the American Legion Post #298 228 North 20th Street, Springfield, MI. A light luncheon will be provided by the American Legion Post #298 Ladies Auxiliary. Memorials may be directed to the Post #298 American Legion Riders.
