Billy "Buck" Vines

Billy "Buck" Vines Sr. age 67, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2020 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born in LaFayette, Alabama on May 1, 1952 the son of Cleveland and Peggy (Heath) Vines. Billy was an incredibly hard worker and in his downtime he enjoyed watching TV, cooking and spending time with his family.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Betty McCray; his four children, Shannon McCray, James McCray, Billy (Antonia) Vines Jr. and Brendon (Mary) Vines; his grandchildren, Nikemo Burton, Araina Kilgore, James (Heather) McCray Jr., Melanie Vines, Jaxon Vines, and Jayden Castillo; his sisters, Louise Fitzpatrick, Laura Winfield, Marie Sherrill, and Betty Moss; his brothers, George Vines, Daron Vines, Bobby Lee Vines; his mother-in-law, Ruby McCray; his favorite cousin, Sally Shuford; and several nieces, nephews & other extended family members.

Due to recent government regulations mandating funerals of 10 attendees or less, a private family service (by invitation only) will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. A public celebration will be held later in the year when it is once again safe for us to gather. Billy will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials directed to the family would be appreciated.
