Blake Fulton

Blake Fulton, born October 15, 1995 in Battle Creek, MI passed away unexpectedly at home on June 2, 2023. Blake was described by many as a “Ray of Sunshine” and brought laughter to everyone with whom he came in contact. He had a variety of hobbies but especially enjoyed Anime and had decorated the canvas of his body with many of those tattoos. He also enjoyed drawing and painting and music brought him a great deal of comfort. He worked his first job at McDonald’s just as his father had many years before him. After leaving McDonald’s he obtained a job at Firekeeper’s Casino and Hotel where he worked his way up to Table Games Dealer. He was especially entertaining and was a preferred dealer to many patrons and beloved by his coworkers.

Blake and his mother, Michelle, had a special bond and relationship and talked often on the phone as well as lunch a couple of times a week.  Blake took his responsibility to family very seriously and was a good son. He was a solid worker from the age of six in the family business at Southside Sportsman Club / Freedom Firearms where he “aided” in construction and sorted brass from the range. He became the youngest NRA Distinguished Expert with a handgun at the age of eight.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Larry Fulton, who called him his “Punky”. He is survived by his mother, Michelle Stemaly, and his father, Joel Fulton. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Edwin (MaryEtta) Stemaly, his maternal grandmother, Linda Okerlund, and his paternal grandmother, Betty Fulton. He is survived by his brother, David (Sydney) Fulton, his Uncles, Jared Fulton and John (Adine) Fulton, as well as Tom Stemaly and his son, Blake’s cousin, Conner. He is survived by his Fulton Cousins: Tristin, Carsten, Ethan, Eryn, Ebed, Enoch, and Ezelle. Also, a very special cousin on his mom’s side, Marli Holcomb.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 9^th and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 10^th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where a memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday.  The service will be Livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/event/3477248/519df24652.  Flowers may be sent by contacting Swonk’s Flowers and Gifts at (269) 963-5571.
