Bradley William "Brad" VanVleet, age 45, of Battle Creek died Friday, December 5, 2014. He grew up in Washington Heights and went to school at Battle Creek Central High School where he was a top diver on the swim team. Brad worked as a certified welder at United Steel and Wire.
Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward Henry VanVleet, Pauline Lilliane Little-VanVleet, and a sister, Angela M. Rice. He is survived by his mother, Yvonne VanVleet-Green; his sons, Cody Davison and Fiancée, Lacey Wiseman, Colt VanVleet and girlfriend, Savannah Ruble; his brother, Tony Rice and girlfriend, Ashley Fox-Cranick; granddaughters Alexis Wiseman and Melanie Davison; only niece, Madlyne Albright; uncle, Ed VanVleet, uncle, Mark Rice and family; cousins, Todd & Joy Crane and kids, Missa Mexico and family, Brian Vinyard and family, Dana Sims and kids; Betsy Pahl; aunt, Sharon and the Maske family, Momma Traylor and family, Larry Seely and family, the late Mark Perkins, Fern Perkins and family, and the rest of his close friends.
The family will receive friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday. Family and friends will continue the celebration of Brad's life at 5:00 p.m., Thursday at the PNA (Polish National Alliance) 15 Claire Street, Battle Creek.
