Brendan Jordan Neeley

Brendan was born April 7, 1997, in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Jeffery James and Karen Jean (Burghdoff) Neeley. He grew up in the Augusta / Gull Lake area and was a 2015 graduate of Gull Lake High School. Brendan attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Michigan State University. He was employed as a Front Desk Receptionist at the Sherman Lake YMCA Fitness Center.

Surviving are his parents, Karen J. and Jeff J. Neeley of Augusta; two brothers, Ryan J. Neeley and Tyler J. (Jenna) Neeley both of Richland; his paternal grandmother, Katherine Neeley of Marshall; maternal grandparents, Ron and Elvene Hoogakker of Galesburg; a nephew, Waylan Jett Neeley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. Brendan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Larry LaDean Neeley and his maternal grandfather, Ronald Hubert Burghdoff.

Brendan loved spending time with his girlfriend and participating in various sports. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, disc golf and fishing. At Gull Lake High School he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He also enjoyed playing video games and spending time playing with his nephew. He will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky person who maintained a positive, often infectious attitude, with a sarcastic sense of humor. The more sarcastic he was to you, the more you knew he loved you.

In keeping with who he was and not wanting to be the center of attention, a casual Celebration of Life gathering will be held on his birthday, Tuesday April 7, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, 9170 East D Ave., Richland, MI 49083. Come and join us in sharing stories, memories, thoughts and prayers in remembrance of Brendan’s life.
