Brian Edward Winters of Detroit, MI and formerly of Battle Creek, MI
Brian, age 45, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, May 20, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, following a stroke.
Brian, the son of Darlene (Lamphier) Carter and Edward Winters, was born in Battle Creek on May 14, 1975 and was a 1994 graduate of Pennfield High School. He served his Country honorably and nobly in the United States Army as a SPC E4. Brian learned his trade as a HVAC Technician while serving his country. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Battle Creek. Brian enjoyed his guitar, fishing and spending time with his family especially his children. He participated in all sports but enjoyed football, wrestling and bowling and he still holds the pole vault record at Pennfield High School.
Surviving are his three children, Gavin, Peyton & Brenly Winters, all of Castle Rock, CO; his mother, Darlene (Jim) Carter of Marshall, MI; his father, Ed (Sandi) Winters of Kentwood, MI; a sister, Sissy (Craig) Koch of Battle Creek; four brothers, Jeffrey (Michelle) Winters of Satellite Beach, FL, Michael (Katie) Freeburn of Battle Creek, Jamie (Sarah) Freeburn of Oak Harbor, WA and Richard (Chris) Grant of Lowell, MI; several nieces and nephews and his significant other, Jen Osmulski of Romulus, MI.
Due to restrictions at Fort Custer National Cemetery (40 person limit), a private graveside service to celebrate Brian's life will be held on Friday, August 7th at Noon at Fort Custer National Cemetery with the United States Army Honor Guard and the Fort Custer Honor Guard bestowing full military honors.
