Brookes Marie Shippy

Brookes Marie Shippy, age 33, of Battle Creek and formerly of Galesburg passed away on Thursday evening, October 16, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on January 18, 1981 to Brenda (Kiewit) Loviska and David Shippy.

Brookes enjoyed many things in life, from doing arts & crafts with her daughters, going to the casino, watching movies and spending time with her family and friends. Brookes was very close to her sisters, Brandie and Alisha. They would often have "slumbers" and just hang out together.

Brookes is survived by her parents, Brenda (Bill) Loviska of Climax and David (Barb) Shippy of Colorado; her children, Aubrey, Preston, Zander and Kloey; her sisters, Brandie (Jeremy) Homan, Alisha (Andy) Shippy, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Brookes' life was way too short, but she touched so many people and had many, many friends.

A Celebration of Brookes' life will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Augusta Chapel 307 North Webster Street, Augusta. Family and friends will continue Brookes' life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following the service at the Augusta V.F.W. Post # 7956, 13540 West M-96, Augusta.
