Bruce Bond passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 29, surrounded by the love that defined his life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel Bond (Baker); his father, Harold Bond; and his brothers, Bill Bond and Richard Bond.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kelli Bond; his loyal chocolate lab, Harley; his children, Patrick Bond (Lindsey Bond) and Devin Tuck (Joe Tuck); his brother, Mark Bond (Jan Bond); and his four cherished grandsons, Brody, Hudson, Brooks, and George.
Bruce was the kind of man everyone hopes to have in their life—the first to show up when help was needed, never asking questions, only offering support. His generosity knew no bounds, and his quiet strength made those around him feel safe and cared for. He had a sharp wit and a gift for humor, often delivering the perfect quip at just the right moment, bringing laughter even in the simplest of times.
For over 40 years, Bruce proudly owned and operated Bond Tool and Engineering. He took immense pride in his work, finding joy in building, fixing, and creating with his hands. That same passion carried into his personal life, most recently seen in the beautiful garden he and Kelli lovingly created together—a reflection of his patience, care, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Above all, Bruce loved his family. He was a devoted father who never missed a game, traveling across the country to support his children in their pursuits. That same dedication carried on to his grandsons, whom he adored. Whether cheering from the sidelines or driving them to practice, he was always there—present, proud, and full of encouragement.
Bruce was happiest in the company of those he loved, especially gathered around a fire, sharing stories, laughter, and moments that will now be treasured memories. His presence had a way of bringing people together, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 6 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at The Dock at Bayview from 12:00–3:00 p.m., where light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
He will be so incredibly missed, but the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the lives he touched.
A life well lived, a man deeply loved, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
