Bruce Anthony Hawkins

Bruce Anthony Hawkins 60, of Battle Creek, MI passed away June 19th, 2026, at his home while sleeping. Bruce was the son of the late Morton and Barbara Hawkins. Bruce was the middle child of three. He was born October 28,1965 in Battle Creek, MI.

He attended Battle Creek Public Schools and was a self-employed mechanic. He was an avid car enthusiast, mechanic, and building cars from scratch. His hobbies were anything that had a motor and speed. From R C Cars to real cars Bruce could build it, race it and repair any car you brought him. His prize possession was his 1981 Chevy Malibu he restored that was his pride and joy.

Bruce was such a big part of so many and losing someone you love that deeply leaves an emptiness that words can’t describe. The love, memories, laughter, and bond we shared with him will always be a part of us. Nothing can ever take that away. Right now, it’s okay to grieve, cry, and feel everything you’re feeling. You don’t have to be strong for anyone, and Bruce would want his memories to be with you forever.

In his legacy he leaves behind five children, son Anthony Hawkins, daughters Depree Hawkins, Julia Hawkins, Debrea Micklatcher and Barbara Hawkins-Bevels; girlfriend Danielle Bevel; brother Maurice Pointer and sister Julia Taylor, all of Battle Creek, in addition to a host of family and friends. Bruce leaves behind so many cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, love and wisdom that will live on forever.

A funeral service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held Friday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where his family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Personal messages for his family may be shared at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
