Carly Renee Burke

Carly Renee Burke, 30, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on September 30, 2023.

Born on October 4, 1992, in South Bend, Indiana, Carly had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for life.

Carly was a compassionate individual who found joy in helping others. She dedicated her career to serving the elderly population as a valued member of Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Michigan. Carly’s coworkers were like family to her, and she cherished the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those she cared for.

In her free time, Carly explored her many interests and hobbies. She had a passion for art, sports, and music. Carly had a beautiful singing voice and a love for both old and new music, showcasing her old soul. She found solace in nature, often gazing at the sky and appreciating the wonders of the natural world. Carly’s love for animals was evident, as cats would seek her out and follow her wherever she went.

Carly’s journey was not without its challenges. Since birth, she battled an incurable liver disease, enduring numerous hardships. Despite these obstacles, Carly remained resilient, stepping over every speed bump and overcoming barriers with unwavering determination. She was a happy child, and her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Carly’s loving and supportive family meant the world to her. She is survived by her mother, Kimberly Burke and father, Edward DeCraene, as well as her half-siblings, Dawn and Myra DeCraene, and Edward Koczan. Carly also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andrea and Jack Burke.

A private ceremony to celebrate Carly’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Carly’s mother, Kimberly Burke, as Carly will be laid to rest at the family plot in South Bend, Indiana. Any charitable donations made in Carly’s memory will be greatly appreciated.
