Carol Lou Mead

Born March 9, 1942, Carol grew up in the small town of Standish, MI. After graduating high school she went on to Central Michigan University where she obtained her teaching degree. Carol taught second graders for twenty five years and totally loved her job!

Carol married the love of her life, Arden Mead, shortly after graduating college and together they raised their boys, Tony and Trent, in the Harper Creek school district.

After retirement she and Arden moved to their place in Houghton Lake where they lived for twenty years. They cherished their place at the lake.

She is survived by her husband Arden Mead, their two sons; Tony (Kara) Mead and Trent Mead. One brother; Tom (Tammy) Nigl, two sisters; Catherine McAden and Ruth Ellis, two wonderful grandchildren; Macey and Treysen Mead, as well as many other fun nieces and nephews. Carol is preceded in death by her parents; Mike and Elsie Nigl, and one sister; Ardythe Hansen.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate her life will be held 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15th.
