Carol A. Roosa

January 12, 1950 — February 24, 2023

Carol A. Roosa, age 73, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 24, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 12, 1950 the daughter of John W. and Dorothy M. (Bush) Kingsley and graduated from Rockford High School with the Class of 1968. Carol served for several years as a school crossing guard with Lakeview Schools.

Carol married David Alan "Dave" Roosa in Rockford, Michigan on October 17, 1969; he sadly preceded her in death on March 23, 2012. She is survived by her two sons, David (Patricia K.) Roosa, Jr. and William K. (Charity) Roosa, both of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren, Eli, Gabe, Alayna, Evey, Lydia, Eloise and Zander Roosa; two sisters, Bonnie Kingsley and Mary Kingsley; a brother, David Kingsley; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Carol was also preceded in death by her parents: a brother, Gerald Kingsley; a sister-in-law, Uraina Kingsley.

Carol was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church, Battle Creek where she was a member of the 2nd Fifties. She was also a member of the Rolling Hills Tuesday night Euchre group, and enjoyed playing Euchre, reading, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

At the request of the family, they will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23rd at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. A memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24th at the St. Mark Lutheran Church 114 E. Minges Rd., Battle Creek. Inurnment will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the family.
