Carolyn J. Kitt-Corkins

Our mother, Carolyn J. Kitt-Corkins passed away on May 4, 2024.  She was born in Coldwater, MI on June 2, 1938 to Herbert and Frances (Sheriff) Davis.   Carolyn graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, Class of 1956.  She had been employed by the Battle Creek Enquirer, Michigan National Bank, Kellogg Company and Plante Moran Accounting Firm for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, RV camping with her loving husband and spending time with family and friends.  

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Delbert “Jerry” Corkins of 19 years; her children, Carie (Richard) Ellis of Toledo, OH and Richard Kitt of Battle Creek; stepdaughters, Meleah (Michael) VanDenberg, Ondrea Smith, Debra (Frederick) Frantz and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, a niece and nephews.  

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.   A graveside service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 10 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in the Chapel.   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
