Carolyn Taylor

Carolyn Taylor, 89 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Legacy at the Oaks, Battle Creek. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on January 8, 1936, the daughter of Ted and Estelle (Morris) Darnell.

Carolyn married Robert L. “Bob” Taylor on August 21, 1953 in Battle Creek; he sadly preceded her in death on March 10, 2012. Surviving are her daughter, Sandy Cretsinger and son Randy (Tami) Taylor all of Battle Creek; six grandchildren, Rick (Danielle) Cretsinger, Steve (Melissa) Cretsinger, Andrew (Jessica) Taylor, Courtney (Richard) Corbina, Scott Taylor, Kevin (Caroline) Taylor, and ten great-grandchildren. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Bob Darnell.

Carolyn was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. For many years Carolyn and Bob spent a lot of time at Sandy Pines Wilderness Trails, where he was a golf ranger. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, playing Sudoku and spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Drive, Battle Creek, MI 49015 where a Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held privately at Gilson Cemetery. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
