Carolyn Jeanne Thomas of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on July 26, 2021, surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born on December 11, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Verne and Evelyn Wiederhold. She graduated from Battle Creek Central and attended Western Michigan University. On January 30, 1954, she married Robert Thomas, the love of her life. They were married for 53 years until Bob's death in 2007.
She retired from the Springfield School System where she taught reading. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crochet. She and Bob loved spending time with family, including vacations to upper Michigan, family gatherings during "balloon week" and chasing their children and grandchildren to many of their sporting events and school related activities. In later years they enjoyed traveling.
Carolyn is survived by 4 boys: Mike (Robyn), Jeff (Holly), Greg (Catherine) and Steve (Susan), 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1st, 2021 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Carolyn's life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2nd, officiated by Rev.
