Catharine E. Boyer

Catharine E. Boyer (Ziolkowski), age 86, passed away on May 22, 2018 at her home in Battle Creek, MI.

Catharine was born on January 2, 1932 in Battle Creek to Simon and Ruth Ziolkowski. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1950. She married Robert L. Boyer on September 25,1957.

Catharine worked at Transamerica Insurance for 30+ years. She began her career as a claims adjuster and later became the floor manager. She took great pride in being an accomplished Mary Kay Consultant and District Director for 40 years. She was also a long time member of the local ABWA (American Business Women's Association).

Catharine was a regular member of St. Phillip Roman Catholic Church to which she made many contributions over the years. She loved the color pink, painting, playing the organ and spending time with her black poodle, Bobbie.

Catharine is survived by her sisters Caroline (James) Congden of Milpitas, CA, Joan Karsen of Port Huron, MI, and Patricia King of Las Cruces, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert L. Boyer, her parents, and many beloved pet poodles.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Farley Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Phillip Church Restoration Lighting Fund, St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 112 NE Capital Ave., Battle Creek, MI, 49017.
